Automate Your Social Media Management

The aim of SEO is to give the search engines what they want. Yes PPC advertising is a great way to quickly boost inquiries but all businesses want a steady stream of calls from the organic results.

And one thing that I come across again and again is that strong, healthy sites on page 1 have a regular amount of new links all the time.

This is a clear sign of a healthy website and a sign of a healthy business too.

And Google knows it.

What's a Healthy Backlink Profile?

Let's take a look at a few examples so you understand the difference.

The picture above is taken from Majestic backlink checker. It shows that there are a healthy number of new links coming into this site all the time.

This is a great indication to Google that people like your business and are discussing it. Now let's take a look at a bigger site that is languishing on page 3.

We can see here that the number of links coming into the site is pretty flat. And predictably, rankings are flat too.

These are the total number of incoming links over a year. We can see this site is loosing links. When this happens rankings will plummet too.

This business shows a much healthier backlink profile. It's clear that they employed an Irish SEO in November and have steadily increased the number of links since then. This site is sitting in position 2 for it's area of expertise.

So how do you keep links coming in when you don't have a massive budget?

There are several ways but one of the most cost effective solutions is social syndication which not only builds links from trusted authoritative sites but also takes care of social media management too.

And What is Social Syndication?

Syndication is publishing your websites content on all of your social properties. Sounds good right?

But how does this build a healthy backlink profile?

You take one piece of content from your website and use it on all your properties. These sites link back to your website. You get links from established authority sites. And all this happens by magic...

...well, it happens by magic after you set up.

So... Where Can You Syndicate To?

You can syndicate your content to a lot of different sites. The sites you select will depend on which method you use.

Take a look below for some of the different methods of syndicating your content.

But just to give you an idea, here are a few sites you can use.

And What About Social Media Management?

Yes, there's no need to worry about all your social profiles anymore. With this system you are keeping all the profiles active. And taking care of your social media management.

It's a set and forget system that once built will continue to improve your online visibility.

Optimizing Your Profiles

Basic optimization is not difficult. There are a lot more things you can do. But here are a basic list of things to bear in mind while you set up your accounts.

Step 1 – Upload same logo and images as used on your site.
Step 2 – Link to your main website.
Step 3 – Link randomly to your other social profiles and banded Web2 sites.
Step 4 – Publish 1 original article on each site to help with indexing.
Step 5 – Use keyword rich descriptions and drop your NAP.

This can be soul destroying work! Get a trusted staff member to do it or look at finding a reliable outsourcer

It's a good idea. to link all these profiles and web2.0 properties together and to your main website. This has a very powerful effect on your rankings and helps Google know that all your properties are linked and that your company is an "entitiy".

What the hell is an "entity"?

An "entity" is just Google's term for a person, place or thing. When Google knows that you and all your properties are connected it will begin to display your business like it displays brands.

Take a look at this.

When clients search for your company and see Google presents your company with all this additional information, they see that Google knows you are an established and trustworthy company.

Once you've set up your accounts then it's time to...

Put It On Auto Pilot

There are numerous ways to do syndication. You could manually copy your article to all the different sites. You would probably be braindead in a matter of hours.

There are a number of software solutions which unfortunately break every time the connected sites change their code.

Or here are two more robust ways to do it.

Method 1 - IFTTT

IFTTT is a service that allows you to program simple conditional statements that occur when a trigger action occurs....

So, when you publish an article on your website IFTTT see this and then copies it to your other connected websites.

Check out IFTTT here.

Step 1 – Create all the social profiles and blog properties possible.
Step 2 – Create an account at IFTTT.
Step 3 – Connect and authorize all of your accounts on IFTTT.
Step 4 – Set-up recipes to syndicate any new blog posts on your site to all your different accounts and properties.
Step 5 – Test the syndication and relax.

Method 2 - OnlyWire

Onlywire is a pretty cool little service used by many of top fortune 500 companies. But it's affordable for the small business owner too and can give you a nice return on your investment.

Check out Onlywire here.

Step 1 – Create your account at Onlywire
Step 2 – Add all your created accounts. This takes awhile but you only need to do it once.
Step 3 – Set up your RSS feed from your website. If you can’t find it try searching with Feedity.
Step 4 – Test the syndication by publishing a new article.
Step 5 – Hey Presto, all done.

Onlywire give you a browser extension so that you can share something from within your browser. They give you a WordPress plugin to help with syndication and the above mentioned RSS method.

The Key Points

These social sites are a great idea to build consistent new links on a regular basis.

Build the syndication network manually. If you use automated tools, there is a much higher probability that they will be deleted.

This system takes care of all your social media management needs too.

To provide real power to your site, the syndication network needs links.
